Standing With You: Facing Trumps Election Together
The weight of these times is real, and here at Revive Therapy, we feel it too. With Trump’s re-election, there’s a mix of fear, frustration, and uncertainty in the air, and we know that many of you are deeply impacted. Whether you’re experiencing worry about your safety, concerns about loved ones, or simply a sense of dread about what the future might hold, please know this: you’re not alone in this, and we’re here to support you.
Please Remember This…
1. You Aren’t Alone – We’re In This Together
In times like these, it's easy to feel isolated and overwhelmed, but remember that you’re not alone. We’re all navigating this together, and there is strength in our collective experience. Reach out, connect, and know that others are right here with you.
2. Take It Day by Day Right Now
When things feel uncertain and out of control, the idea of taking on everything at once can feel exhausting. Give yourself permission to take each day as it comes. Focus on the present, on manageable steps, and don’t feel pressured to figure everything out all at once.
3. Be Mindful of the Type and Amount of Information You’re Digesting
It’s easy to get consumed by a constant stream of news and social media updates, which can lead to feeling more anxious and unsettled. Set boundaries on the information you consume. Take breaks from social media and be mindful of the content you allow yourself to engage with.
4. Continue Practicing Nervous System Regulation Techniques
During times of stress, it’s crucial to keep practicing techniques that help regulate your nervous system, like deep breathing, grounding exercises, or gentle movement. These small but powerful actions help calm your body and mind, allowing you to face challenges with greater resilience.
5. Lean on Your Support System and Community
In difficult times, don’t hesitate to lean on those around you. Reach out to friends, family, or any support systems you have. Community offers both comfort and strength—don’t be afraid to ask for or accept support.
Our Commitment to Every Individual Who Walks Through Our Door
At Revive Therapy, inclusivity isn’t just a value—it’s a promise. We are a safe space for people of all backgrounds, identities, and beliefs. No matter your ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality, physical ability, body size, or religion, you belong here. We stand beside you and believe in your right to exist, heal, and thrive.
We understand that for many, this election feels personal. There are real-life consequences, and policies that may impact your safety, rights, and sense of security. We’re committed to helping you navigate these challenges and providing a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and respected.
Protecting Your Privacy in a Time of Uncertainty
We know that privacy is more than a formality—it's a necessity, especially now. As a cash-based practice, we’re able to limit the level of detail in our progress notes, ensuring that your personal experiences remain private. When documenting, we keep things broad to protect your privacy. For instance, if you share relationship struggles, we may record something like: “Client shared interpersonal conflict with partner. Therapist and client brainstormed communication strategies.” This approach allows us to keep your story safe and respected.
Currently, progress notes can only be accessed without your consent through a judge’s subpoena. Even a lawyer can’t access your notes unless a judge specifically orders it. While we don’t know how future laws might change, we are committed to documenting in a way that protects your privacy, regardless of shifting political climates.
We’re in This With You
We’re here to remind you that you don’t have to face this alone. The anger, the confusion, the fear—it’s valid, and we’re here to support you through every step of it. We’re listening, advocating, and holding space for you, and we’ll continue to do so, no matter what the future holds.
These are challenging times, but we’ll navigate them together, side by side.
